- Researchers from Japan’s Ehime University published in the International Journal of Obesity demonstrated that the anti-obesity action of Wu Long Tea on nonadrenaline-induced lipolysis in adipose tissue and the inhibitory action of some other substance in Wu Long Tea on pancreatic lipase activity suggest that Wu Long Tea may be a safe, effective treatment of obesity caused by high-fat diets.
- In a study conducted by researchers for the Journal of Nutrition, findings suggest that Wu Long Tea may promote weight loss through increasing Energy Expenditure (EE). EE was measured by indirect calorimetry on randomized men, ages 25-60, in a cross-over design study. It was found that EE significantly increased by 3.9 % for participants taking the full-strength tea. Additionally, fat oxidation (burning) was significantly higher (12%) in subjects consuming Wu Long Tea.
- The National Library of Medicine in conjunction with the National Institute of Health investigated the effects of Wu Long tea catechins on body fat reduction in a 12-week, double-blind study.
